By accessing or using ZakatWise ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and subscribers, including those on free, Pro, and API plans.

2. Service Description

ZakatWise is an AI-powered Islamic finance assistant that provides information, guidance, and tools related to:

• Zakat calculation and assessment
• Halal investing principles and screening
• Islamic finance concepts (Mudarabah, Murabaha, Sukuk, etc.)
• Personal finance planning in accordance with Shariah principles

The Service uses a self-hosted large language model (Ollama) to generate responses based on your queries. We continuously improve the model but make no guarantees about completeness or accuracy.

3. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

a) No Substitute for Scholars

ZakatWise AI-generated responses are based on general Islamic finance principles and publicly available knowledge. They do not constitute a fatwa, religious ruling, or authoritative scholarly opinion. Always consult a qualified mufti or Islamic scholar for matters of religious significance.

b) No Financial Advice

ZakatWise does not provide personalised financial, legal, or investment advice. You should consult a licensed financial advisor before making any financial decisions.

c) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZakatWise and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Incorrect Zakat calculations
• Investment losses or missed opportunities
• Reliance on AI-generated information
• Service interruptions or errors

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of ZakatWise, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information when using the Service.
• Not use the Service for any unlawful or prohibited purpose.
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the AI model.
• Not submit harmful, abusive, or harassing content.
• Not use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair our infrastructure.
• Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws.

5. Subscription Plans & Pricing

ZakatWise offers the following subscription tiers:

All prices are in US Dollars (USD). Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

6. Refund Policy

• Monthly subscriptions (Pro & API): If you cancel within 7 days of purchase, you are eligible for a full refund. After 7 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
• Partial refunds: We may offer partial refunds for service interruptions exceeding 48 hours.
• Free tier: No refunds apply as no payment is collected.
• How to request: Contact support@zakatwise.com with your account email and reason for cancellation.

Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and credited to the original payment method.

7. Account Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms of Service.
• Your use of the Service is abusive, fraudulent, or illegal.
• We are required to do so by law.

You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support. Upon termination, your access to paid features will cease at the end of the current billing period.

8. Intellectual Property

The ZakatWise brand, logo, website design, and AI model (including its training and outputs as a service) are the intellectual property of ZakatWise. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

User-generated content (chat queries) remains yours, but you grant us a limited license to process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States (or the jurisdiction where ZakatWise is registered). Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email (if you have an account) or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
